How To Prepare Your Clients For Lash Extensions
Hey guys, this is Laura, today let's share some tips for lash extensions. As lash artists, we all know that when a client walk into our salon, we can't graft lash extensions on her eyes directly, we should do some work to make clients' eyes are suitable for lashing. So today I'm going to be showing you guys what I do to set and prepare my clients lashes for a lash application from beginning to end.
Step 1: Remove all make up.
Make sure you actually remove all the makeup oils and creams, and nasty gunk, check if there is any remaining eyeliner or mascara carefully. Sometimes clients' eyes looks very clean, but when you wipe her eyes there is still makeup remains, maybe that's why your lash set not very good retention.
Step 2: Cleanse the lashes with lash shampoo.
Shake your lash foam firstly, then squeeze some of them into the lash foam cap, use lash cleaning brush to apply the lash shampoo on clients eyes. It's better to put a soft microfiber towel beside clients' eyes to avoid liquid wet clients' clothes and ears. And before you put any liquid, please let your clients know, so they do not get alarmed and open their eyes.
Brushing back and forth with your lash cleaning brush, circular motions and also lifting clients' lashes up see you have clean everywhere. After brushing use the towel to wipe the lash shampoo off, then rinse clients' eyes with distilled water, here we recommend a long month bottle, it's easy to control. Wipe with the towel while rinsing.
Now one of the eyes has been cleaned, repeat the actions for another eye.
Remember to use the professional lash extension shampoo, it doesn't have any oil after cleaning. By the way, if you use anything else, lash extensions are going to be still oily, and very stick like and they are not going to be fluffy, more importantly, it would hurt clients' eyes.
Step 3: Apply lash primer & dry the natural lashes
Our storm lash primer can deep clean the natural lashes, to help you achieve the better retention.
Dip two drops of lash primer to our long head micro swabs, then apply the lash primer in between layers of clients' natural lashes with two micro swabs, make sure you have cleaned the base of the lashes really well, and use a lash dryer to dry the lashes, otherwise the fans won't wrap onto the natural lashes well.
Step 4: Apply eye patches.
Apply eye patches carefully, don't touch the eyeballs and stay below the waterline to avoid tearing or pain from client. Then cut 4 pcs of lash extension tape, lift up the upper lid and tape below the waterline.
Step 5: Lift up clients eyes for lashing the inner corner and outer corner.
Cut another 4 pcs of short eyelash extension tape, lift up the brow and tape criss-cross style starting with inner corner. Repeat the action to outer corner and another eye. And make sure clients eyes not open so that glue fumes can not go into their eyeballs.
Step 6: Map and start to apply lash extensions!
Now we have prepared everything, we can start to do lash extensions for clients. For all the professional lash extensions supplies we mentioned in this blog, you can find on our brand website storm Lashes. We hope this blog would help you guys lash artists.
